In celebrating the brand’s 70th anniversary, Jeep has decided to release something special for all of its customers. But hey, a special edition model is a special edition model. Jeep is turning 70 years old this year and they’re bringing on the year-long celebration on a very high note.Whether the brand has more in store for us in 2011 is another matter altogether. From the looks of things, though, we wouldn’t be surprised if they do have more surprises for us as the year rolls along.

For the special edition Liberty, Jeep left the powertrain alone, opting the use of the very same 3.7-liter V6 engine that produces 210 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 235 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm and mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission.Jeep priced the Liberty 70th Anniversary Edition at $25,515. The price is more expensive than all Liberty variants with the exception of the Liberty Jet Sport 4x4, which has a price tag of $26,360.

The Jeep Liberty Sport and Limited trims have been dressed up by the brand to adorn their 70th Anniversary package. For the Liberty line, the changes include 18” Mopar wheels with polished face and painted pockets, chrome f side moldings, roof rails, and a license plate brow in the exterior. Meanwhile, the interior gets an Dark Olive/Dark Slate leather seating with Chestnut accent stitching and piping, a leather wrapped steering wheel with Chestnut accents, satin chrome accents and bezels in anodized Silver and Black Lacewood finish, Berber floor mats with Chestnut binding, and Mopar stainless-steel doorsill plates.
